Krishna Janmashtami Celebration

The festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm at Lords International Residential School- Udupi (Affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. Affiliation No. 831576) on Saturday, 13th September 2025. The entire campus was beautifully decorated with flowers, buntings, and pictures depicting the life of Lord Krishna. The programme began with a soulful prayer “Jaga Jala Palam…” dedicated to Lord Krishna, which filled the atmosphere with divinity. Ms. Roopa Ashok Shetty, Vice Principal, warmly welcomed the guests.

As part of the celebration, the school organized a Yashoda–Krishna Competition and a Rangoli Competition. The Yashoda–Krishna Competition aimed to highlight the divine bond of love between Mother Yashoda and Lord Krishna. Children from Kindergarten to Grade 2 actively participated, dressing up as little Krishna and Yashoda. The stage came alive with colourful costumes, ornaments, and enactments of tender moments between mother and child.

The competitions were judged by Ms. Leelavathi Bhat, Retired Teacher, and Ms. Babhitha Suvarna, Network Marketer from Udupi, who appreciated the efforts, innocence, and devotion reflected in each performance. They also shared valuable feedback with parents regarding the judgment criteria. The event not only gave students a platform to showcase their talents but also helped them imbibe values of love, care, and obedience as symbolized in the relationship between Yashoda and Krishna.

One of the highlights of the day was the Dahi Handi, accompanied by Bajane Kunitha and the Tiger Dance, symbolizing team spirit, energy, and joy. The programme was presided over by Dr. Bhavyashree B. Kediyoor, Treasurer & Trustee of the Kediyoor Educational Trust, who congratulated all the participants and encouraged them to carry forward the message of love and devotion in their lives. Prizes were awarded to the best performances, spreading happiness among students and parents alike.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of traditional sweets to all present. The Janmashtami programme not only brought joy and festivity to the campus but also reminded everyone of the timeless teachings of Lord Krishna.
